Unbinding a Pegasus' WingsAlgol's occupation made his parents nervous. Even though they only knew he worked in the rehabilitation of people who'd been involved in slavery or poaching rings; long-term kidnapping and abuse victims. They didn't know what his role was in that occupation, or they'd have been even more worried.
He couldn't pinpoint when it happened, but Algol had shown a decided distaste for stories that circulated around about kidnappings and runaways. He'd asked 'what happened to the victim' at the ends of the tales so many times, Sierra and Toria really weren't surprised that he'd gone into the field he had chosen. And his reaction when few could or would give him an answer gave his mothers much suspicion as to why he chose the work he did.
Algol didn't vocalize his occupational intentions until he'd pushed his way through school, aiming for the absolute highest grades he could manage in all non-physical subjects (but even the phys-ed classes got a fair amount of eff
Not Only BlackTok'lo and Uhlaeso were used to tests. They saw them, took them and tried to understand the results. Uhlaeso liked them better than Tok'lo, who had a tendency to snarl at the ones trying to deliver them. They were one half of a cluster of babies born to Alwe and Pwee, and spent the vast majority of their time with their mother in a lab. They enjoyed time with their mother, but trips out to visit their father and his pack were like treas Complete with 'we won't go if you don't behave.'
When with the Pack, they did their best to fit the structure-it was different from the lab. Tok'lo's habit was to find the nearest pack member that wasn't their mother, father or the Pack Parents, and pounce. She'd learned what she bog by doing that with the former four after the first try. She wasn't stupid. The wrestling matches after Tok'lo pounced were either playful or an attempt to show off how much stronger she'd gotten since last time. An
Two bits of warAnat and Hadad grew up in the Copii territory, with a brother, a sister, and and entire pack of family. Mom was born to original members of the Pack, and dad was brought in by the pack. They heard tales about grandparents somewhere, maybe alive still, but neither was curious enough to investigate. They were more involved in the Pack itself.
Hadad thought the Pack got a bit wild and boisterous a bit too often, but realized that it was just his opinion and worked to be quieter himself. He found he rather enjoyed sneaking around, as much as his coloring would allow. He still took to the lessons for Pack children, but showed a notable preference for the idea of sneaking. Sneaking in for info, sneaking in to sneak something out, sneaking in to pull defenses down; all of it. He'd wrap up so that his glowing skin and hair didn't give away his location, and slink around.
Anat took to the sneaking also, but not quite as devotedly. But then, aside from Pack, she wasn't devoted to much
They is an important distinction sometimesPippin liked fashion. At least as far as finding patterns and seeing what colors worked, which materials suited and what threads they could get away with. They weren't about to try getting into the Industry. Too much stress. Instead, they found a niche, that of cosplay. Great for re-enactments of historical events, or for portraying a favorite video game, book or show character, it was the way they made use of the sewing lessons both parents had deemed necessary. Well, aside from the usual mending, but that was mundane. (The lessons had been strongly suggested to all three of Aisen and Shanti's children, and Pippin had taken to them rather well, to be honest.)
The type of sewing they did was also a great way for Pippin to meet people. They tried to keep their prices fair for both them and their clients, but put out to all and sundry that there was an 'Asshole Fee.' It was generally enough to keep people in line.
The idea had occurred to Pippin a few years before they finished
Last time was grape, so this time must be cherryThe deepest, darkest secret Yas had (and even then, it wasn't the greatest secret) was a passion for sno-cones. Winter, summer, any time of day, he would happily eat one. Of course, he had to be careful that the syrups weren't made with too much actual plant matter, but they were delish. So he'd make a quiet detour before and after work for one; so habitual that the people at the 'Cone shack' knew what flavor was next and teased him about it each time they had a new flavor.
He'd been introduced to them while a pup. One of the matrons had gotten hold of shaved ice and syrups, and made the treat while they were watching a handful of pups. Yes, some of the others liked it, others disliked, but Yas found himself adoring it. So, whenever he could, he'd finagle a sno cone as a treat. Behaving well, good grades, milestones in aging or education were all times he'd beg to 'sneak' one.
But even without that treat, Yas had generally been well-behaved. Sure, he got into a little trouble,
Pixie Plant 6"You've got to see this, Liam, Wyatt."
"What is this we're supposed to see?"
"Nicholes has a Pet Pixie Plant."
"You've mentioned it before. Giggling more than a little about it, even."
"Yes, well, he's taught it to dance."
"Liam, are you trying to win a bet?"
"Pffft. Lemme know when you do, but first!" *points*
The three brothers watch as Nicholes and Diddly dance together. It's not terribly intricate, but at least it doesn't look like anything for the HP Festival anymore.
Left paw forward and Diddly leans in that direction. Right paw back, and Diddly leaaans back. Wiggle, wiggle of a Nicholes' behind, and Diddly rocks evenly side to side. And they start over again.
