Majii-Ardo had always been a doodler.  He'd surprised his parents as a child to no end when he sat, rapt to the 'tune' of an art show, with his tail twitching along, up until it was docked.  And then started sketching things.  He soon figured out how to draw things so they looked like his references (and what 'references' were.)  And then moved on to people.  And with all of the options for creativity in the form of other species, it shouldn't have surprised his family that he would draw new ones.  (Or so he thought.)

He paid attention to his other classes as well, and to people around him, and was soon a teacher and fellow student favorite.  He was confidante to many and those times where he 'ratted' someone out were met with sad faces and fairly quick forgiveness.  After all, they got into less trouble for having done less to get into trouble for.

His original degree led him straight to the doors of a studio that produced cartoons and he enjoyed working there greatly.  But he found himself wanting to complete the cycle after a very short time, and got certified to teach.

But that wasn't how he met Adeena.  She wasn't into art enough to take a class in it.  More like she saw him doodling at a cafe, and asked him if he was just good at matching the original artist's style or if he was the original artist.  He laughed at houw she asked the question, and was good-natured enough to not take offense.  (She hadn't meant to offend, but had honestly doubted he was the artist- how would she be that lucky?)

That led to some bantering, some dating, and then, discussion of kids.  They liked each other well enough to have one together, but were well aware that they weren't 'it' for each other.  So they'd co-parent, moving into a space together to raise whatever child they got from the two of them trying.

Remiz loved his mom.  He didn't like how often she changed her mind, though.  Sometimes she did it because of a change in details.  Sometimes she did it to spite someone.  But it was confusing to him, and led him to get into trouble with others, especially adults, because he kept checking.  His dad fortunately didn't fall back on the 'ask your mom' line very often, so there was at least one source where 'ask once and that's always the answer' could be trained into him.

His grades were fair, and he was pretty good about paying attention.  When classes had projects that involved or required persuasion, Remiz excelled in delivery or in getting things his way.  (And counter to his mom, he was prone to refusing to change his mind unless he lost all options but to.)  However, if the assignments had no set deadlines, or were soft-stated rules and deadlines, he could procrastinate like a professional, and sometimes found himself failing an assignment because of it. Other than in those instances, while Remiz didn't shine in the dark as a master of any one subject, he was steady in his progress of all the ones a Srack child could succeed in.

He wore his bangs like his dad, with a tail of hair to the middle of his shoulders to mimic mom's hair a little, and never seemed to mind anyone playing with it.  He also never had to argue with anyone about why he had a tail, as his parents had agreed to dock it.  (One decision Adeena never changed her mind on, besides having Remiz.)  While younger, to 'make up for' the fact that he didn't have any jewels growing from his face, nor a horn, he found ways to tuck them into bands he used to tie bangs away for school work.  But as soon as he was old enough to, he chose to get piercings where the typical facial jewels would have grown, and put shiny stones of a color that matched his dad's in their place.  No, it didn't disguise the fact he had none of his own, but he still liked having them.

He'd never quite be able to explain how, but the idea of being a politician fascinated him.  He first encountered it in discussions on television- the movies depicted the schmooze, the double-talk, the rare honest moment.  He thought for ages that that was the way it went, and Remiz was sure he would only blow himself out of the metaphorical water trying to be a politician himself, but the study of how one could go from honestly standing for a cessation of hostilities between governments, to lobbying for the benefit of one over the other instead of getting anything actually worked out tickled him enough that that was where he went.  (Of course, a lot of this was in a historical context, but there were still politicians in his day and age that carried out silliness like it.)  He did learn the difference between politicians in the shows and those in real life, but did not change his mind on direction he wanted to go (no real surprise).

He started in Sociology and Psychology, because that would get him clued in on how the shifts happened.  But then he ventured into what he called 'Poly-ology' (and got a barrel of laughs about the idea of it being in regards to polyamory); and studied politicians  What they stood for, what they claimed to stand for, and what they actually did (in or out of office.)

His parents kept him a little sheltered from the events of the Invasion, knowing that if he actually got involved, he'd try to do something like give all of his clothes or all of his food to the refugees.  A noble idea, but ultimately would do no good, as he'd not be able to help long-term in that manner.  They did however teach him to put a little money away, and whenever he found someone in need, he could use that fund to help them.
